"Carte postale à Serge Daney" (June 2012)
SiciliaQUEERfilmfest will pay a tribute to the French film critic (1944-1992) in the twentieth anniversary of his death, as an highlight of the next edition: June 1-7, 2012.
We would like, with Daney, to discover and rediscover a vitality of vision of the cinema and to find the sense of indignation against those products that our age "without cinema" has resigned to suffer passively. (from the introductory text by the curator, Andrea Inzerillo)
Part of this hommage will be a film review with some of the feature-films preferred by Daney, a round-table discussion with Italian and French critics, and the publication on the festival's catalogue of the Italian translation of same rare Daney's essays, never before published in Italy.
