During his wandering in southern France looking for wolves, screenwriter Léo meets Marie, a strong, dynamic shepherd woman who lives with her two sons in her father's farm in the department of Lozère. Between Marie and Léo there is an immediate mutual sympathy that will blur in a relationship from which a child will be born. In the small village where he now lives, Leo will get to know young Yoan who lives with old Marcel, and a strange relationship between the three will born. Meanwhile, Marie decides to go live in the city leaving Léo alone to care for their son. Rester Vertical is one of the most striking and interesting movies of the last season, and Guiraudie, after the success of L'inconnu du lac, produces a work of significant impact, a reflection on cinema through a self-quest, a provocative act of faith towards the seventh art.
