Documentario in forma animata che illustra la storia di Ofer, uomo transessuale, che nota i primi segni della pubertà in quinta elementare e con essi anche i primi segnali di disforia. I dubbi lasciano presto spazio a una sola certezza: il sentimento di odio verso il suo corpo che abbandona le rassicuranti forme infantili per trasformarsi in qualcosa che lo inquieta. Se inizialmente sono le felpe di papà e nonno – che spesso indossa fino a quattro strati – a ovviare al problema, appare presto chiaro che per nascondere il seno non basteranno sempre espedienti così semplici. E non passerà molto tempo prima che giungano anche altri segni di un corpo che si sta sviluppando. La lotta per Ofer è solo all'inizio. Con un’animazione e una voce fuori campo, Keren Nir mette in scena un evento, quello del proprio corpo che muta, inizialmente destabilizzante per chiunque ma ancor più per chi sa già che non sarà mai corrispondente a ciò che sente di essere davvero.
Animated documentary based on the story of Ofer, a transgender man who notices the first signs of puberty during fifth grade and at the same time experiences the first signs of dysphoria. The first doubts soon leave room to a certainty: the feeling of hatred towards his body that leaves its reassuring infantile forms to turn into something that bothers him. If initially the sweatshirts of his dad and his grandfather – which he often wears up to four layers – may do the trick, it soon becomes clear that hiding the breasts will ask for more effective devices. In fact, soon other signs of a body that is in full development will show up. The fight for Ofer is just at the beginning. With an animation and a voice over, Keren Nir stages an event, the changes in one’s body, initially destabilizing for anyone but much more for those who already know that it will never correspond to what they feel they are.

Israeliana, nata e cresciuta a Gerusalemme, dove ha studiato animazione alla Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. Keren lavora come animatrice e come artista nel campo degli effetti visivi per pubblicità televisive e insegna arte in un liceo locale.
She was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel. She studied animation at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. Keren works as an animator and a visual effects artist on television commercials, and as an art teacher in a local high school.
