Juan, un bambino peruviano di 9 anni, vive con il suo padre taciturno in una casa galleggiante sul meraviglioso Rio delle Amazzoni. Questo scenario idillico è il punto di partenza di un viaggio allegorico nel cuore della giungla, dove la natura, il genere, la verità e tutte le cose che circondano i protagonisti iniziano a rivelare l'identità di suo padre, perché d’altronde, come recita l’epigrafe del film, “non c’è segreto che la natura non possa svelare”…
Realtà e magia si fondono in questo corto immerso in una vegetazione lussureggiante e oscura, sospeso tra fiaba dark e realismo magico.

Juan, a 9 year-old Peruvian boy, lives with his silent dad in a floating house on the breathtaking Amazon River. This idyllic background sets an allegorical journey into the rainforest jungle, where nature, gender, truth and all things begin to reveal the identity of his dad, because, as the epigraph of the film says, "there is no secret that nature cannot reveal"...
Reality and magic come together in this short film surrounded by a luxuriant and obscure vegetation, suspended between dark fairy tale and magical realism.

È una regista peruviana, autrice di due cortometraggi. El Silencio del Río è stato girato sul Rio delle Amazzoni, mentre il suo primo film, Aya, è stato girato nelle Ande peruviane. Ha studiato Cinema all'Università di Montpellier ed ha completato un Master in cinema all'ESCAC, la Scuola di Cinema della Catalogna. La regista racconta storie che veicolano importanti messaggi sociali. Sta attualmente studiando sceneggiatura alla EICTV di Cuba e sta scrivendo la sceneggiatura del suo primo lungometraggio intitolato Belen, mentre nel frattempo continua anche a girare pubblicità e videoclip a Madrid.

She is a Peruvian filmmaker who recently completed her second film, the short El Silencio del Río, shot on the Amazon River. Her first short film Aya, was shot in the Peruvian Andes. The filmmaker studied cinema at the University of Montpellier and holds a Master degree in Cinematography from the ESCAC, the Cinema School of Catalunya. The filmmaker strives to tell stories with a socially conscious message. Following studies for a scriptwriting degree at the EICTV in Cuba, the filmmaker is now penning her first feature film script titled Belen, while also directing advertising and music videos in Madrid.
