Si è trasferito a Parigi nel 2014 per studiare cinema. Fino al 2020 è apparso in L’odeur du sans plomb, insieme a Denis Lavant, Bertrand Bonello e Mathieu Carrière. Nel 2015, lui e Léolo hanno fondato l’associazione Horschamp – Rencontres de Cinéma, sponsorizzata da Thierry Frémaux, una realtà che promuove film del patrimonio cinematografico e organizza incontri e discussioni con una vasta gamma di artisti, alcuni dei quali lo sosterranno e lo guideranno nel futuro (Bertrand Bonello, Jean-Gabriel Périot e Olivier Ducastel). Nel 2019 si è laureato a La Fémis con il film Aussi fort que tu peux, che ha vinto il premio per il miglior cortometraggio al festival lgbt di Roma. Nel giugno 2023 si è tenuta una retrospettiva dei film di Mathieu alla Cinémathèque Française (Monographie en sept films) come parte del ciclo Sexperimentaux. Nel 2024 The Deep Queer Massacre è fuori concorso al Sicilia Queer filmfest, e nello stesso anno Anapidae (Appelle-moi) viene presentato, tra gli altri, al Queer Lisboa e Festival Chéries-Chéris.

He moved to Paris in 2014 to study cinema. Up to 2020 he appeared in L’odeur du sans plomb, alongside Denis Lavant, Bertrand Bonello e Mathieu Carrière. In 2015, he and Léolo founded the Horschamp – Rencontres de Cinéma association, which is sponsored by Thierry Frémaux and works to promote heritage films and organize meetings and discussions with a wide range of artists, some of which would support and guide him in the future (Bertrand Bonello, Jean-Gabriel Périot and Olivier Ducastel). In 2019 he graduated from La Fémis with his graduation film As Hard As You Can, which won the prize for best short film at the Rome lgbt festival. In June 2023 a retrospective of Mathieu’s films was held at the Cinémathèque Française (Monographie en sept films) as part of the Sexperimentaux cycle. In 2024 The Deep Queer Massacre is screened out of competition at the Sicilia Queer filmfest, and in the same year Anapidae (Call Me) is presented, among other festivals, at the Queer Lisboa Film Festival and at the Chéries-Chéris Film Festival.
