Theo è messo di fronte all’oscurità di una città muta. Intorpidito dai vuoti urbani, e dall’indifferenza umana dei volti e dei corpi altrui, si reca nelle campagne per andare a trovare l’amica Ida.
L’intensa filmografia di Carlos Pereira si arricchisce di un nuovo tassello, un puzzle di silenzi che evoca spleen ma lavora sottopelle per arrivare a sorprendere con le piccole cose. Corpi in una tensione desiderante spesso frustrata, che pensano di controllare le loro azioni e invece vagano come iceberg alla deriva, nella speranza di urtare qualcosa o qualcuno.

Theo is faced with the darkness of a silent city. Numbed by the urban voids, and by the human indifference of other people’s faces and bodies, he goes to the countryside to visit his friend Ida.
Carlos Pereira’s intense filmography is enriched with a new piece, a puzzle of silences that evokes spleen but works under the skin to surprise with the little things. Bodies in an often frustrated desiring tension, bodies that think they control their actions and instead wander like drifting icebergs, hoping to bump into something or someone.

Studia regia cinematográfica alla Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (dffb). I suoi film sono stati proiettati in festival come Locarno, San Sebastián, Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin, IndieLisboa e Vila do Conde, e proiettati in luoghi come la Cité Internationale des Arts, la Haus der Kulturen der Welt e il Museum of Modern Art di Rio de Janeiro. Slimane ha vinto il premio della critica tedesca come miglior cortometraggio, oltre che due premi al Sicilia Queer filmfest 2024. Nel 2022 ottiene una residenza al Bergman Estate di Fårö, dove scrive la sceneggiatura del suo primo lungometraggio, attualmente in sviluppo.

He is currently studying Film Directing at the Deusche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (dffb). His films have been shown at festivals such as Locarno, San Sebastián, Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin, IndieLisboa and Vila do Conde, and screened at venues such as Cité Internationale des Arts, Haus der Kulturen der Welt and Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro. Slimane won the German Film Critics Award for Best Short Film, and also two awards at the Sicilia Queer filmfest 2024. In 2022 he was awarded a residency at The Bergman Estate on Fårö, where he wrote the script of his first feature film, currently in development.
