Enric e Irene, fratello e sorella, convivono con il proprio passato come possono: lui immaginando gli extraterrestri, lei con una vita borghese che sia il più normale possibile. Ma il passato torna a bussare tramite l’avvento di un gruppo di giovani cantanti religiose che invadono televisioni e social network. Sono sette sorelle, si fanno chiamare “Stella Maris”, e pensano di avere un legame diretto con Dio.
Los Javis, creatori di questa serie tv spagnola, intrecciano thriller e dramma familiare per scavare in profondità nella terra franosa che separa la fede dalla superstizione. In sette capitoli fanno scontrare i loro personaggi con immagini e credenze fino a causarne il cortocircuito. Con un apice nella costruzione del personaggio di Montserrat, interpretata tra le altre da una fenomenale Lola Dueñas: madre, santa, pazza, visionaria, aliena, eroina, e nessuna delle precedenti allo stesso tempo.

Enric and Irene, brother and sister, survive their past as best as they can: he speculates about UFOs, she brings on a bourgeois life that is as normal as possible. But the past comes back to knock through the coming of a group of young religious singers who invade television and social networks. They are seven sisters, they call themselves “Stella Maris”, and they think they have a direct connection with God.
Los Javis, creators of this Spanish TV series, intertwine thriller and family drama to dig deep into the crumbling land that separates faith and superstition. In seven chapters they make their characters collide with images and beliefs until they crash in a short circuit. With a peak in the construction of the character of Montserrat, played among others by a great Lola Dueñas: mother, saint, mad, visionary, alien, heroine, and none of the above at the same time.

Classe 1984, madrileno, fidanzato dal 2010 con il collega Javier Calvo col quale sono chiamati “Los Javis”, si è laureato in giornalismo all’Universidad Complutensis de Madrid e ha studiato drammaturgia alla Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático. Attore televisivo fin dall’inizio degli Anni Duemila (in serie come El comisario, Amar en tiempos revueltos e Arrayán), co-dirige nel 2015 una produzione teatrale messicana chiamata La llamada insieme a Calvo, avventurandosi così nel territorio del musical con tematiche religiose.

Born in 1984 in Madrid, engaged since 2010 to his colleague Javier Calvo with whom they are called “Los Javis”, he graduated in journalism from the Universidad Complutensis de Madrid and studied dramaturgy at the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático. A television actor since the early 2000s (in series such as El comisario, Amar en tiempos revueltos and Arrayán), in 2015 he co-directed a stage play called La llamada together with Calvo, thus venturing into the territory of musicals with religious themes.

Nato nel 1991 e celebre per aver interpretato Fer nella mitica serie spagnola Física o Química, ha firmato la regia e lo sviluppo di numerose celebri serie tv con il compagno Javier Ambrossi fra cui Paquita Salas e Veneno. Candidati con Ambrossi ai Goya Awards e vincitori tra gli altri ai Feroz Awards e ai Fotogramas de Plata, Los Javis sono la mente dietro La Mesías, serie Movistar+ presentata al San Sebastián Film Festival nel 2023.

Born in 1991 and famous for his role of Fer in the mythical Tv series Física o Química, he directed and developed numerous well known TV series with his partner Javier Ambrossi such as Paquita Salas and Veneno. Nominated with Ambrossi for Goya Awards and winner, among others, at the Feroz Awards and at the Fotogramas de Plata, Los Javis are the mind behind La Mesías, Movistar+ series presented at the San Sebastián Film Festival in 2023.
