Cantante, performer, regina dell’electro-punk, Peaches è un’artista multiforme che riesce a far scadere qualsiasi etichetta e qualsiasi confine di definizione. I suoi spettacoli sono (s)concerti di ipersessualizzazione, lotta contro il masochismo, liberazione dei desideri più scomodi. La sua vita privata è invece un incontro di affetti familiari ed entusiasmi lavorativi, impregnata com’è di una spinta trasformativa che diventa un tutt’uno con le metamorfosi dei suoi affollatissimi show.
Peaches, dopo tanti documentari e film-concerto, riceve il “trattamento Marie Losier” con un ritratto che è innanzitutto una fantasia in pellicola, un ludico resoconto che nel perfetto stile della sua regista sembra un home video impossibile, via preferenziale per scandagliare un personaggio pubblico nella sua immagine più riservata. Ma con Peaches, corpo vita e spettacolo sembrano una cosa sola.

Singer, performer, queen of electro-punk, Peaches is a multifaceted artist who manages to make any label and any definitional boundary expire. Her shows are (dis)concerts of hypersexualization, fight against masochism, liberation of the most uncomfortable desires. Her private life is instead a meeting of family affections and work enthusiasms, imbued as it is with a transformative drive that becomes one with the metamorphoses of her crowded shows.
Peaches, after many documentaries and concert films, receives the “Marie Losier treatment” with a portrait that is first and foremost a fantasy on film, a playful account that in the perfect style of its director seems like an impossible home video, a preferential way to probe a public figure in his most private image. But with Peaches, body life and show seem to be one and the same.

Filmmaker e curatrice, ha vissuto a New York per vent’anni presentando i propri lavori video o in pellicola in musei, gallerie d’arte e festival vincendo numerosi premi. Ha creato una serie di film-ritratto su registi, musicisti e artisti delle avanguardie tra i quali i fratelli Kuchar, Guy Maddin, Richard Foreman, Tony Conrad, Genesis P-Orridge, Alan Vega, Peter Hristoff e il “Liberace della lotta libera” Saul Almendariz detto Cassandro. I film di Losier sono stati presentati a Cannes, alla Berlinale, al Rotterdam Film Festival, all’IDFA, alla Tate Modern, al MoMA, al Palais de Tokyo, al Centre Georges Pompidou e alla Cinémathèque Française. Negli ultimi anni, Losier ha anche diretto e coordinato il corso di cinema per il Master in Arti Visive della Head (Ginevra). Felix in Wonderland (2019) è stato presentato al Festival di Locarno, quando nello stesso anno il Sicilia Queer filmfest le ha dedicato la sezione Presenze; nel 2024 Peaches Goes Bananas esordisce alle Giornate degli Autori del Festival di Venezia; nel 2025 Barking in the Dark, sul gruppo The Residents, passa da Rotterdam e dal festival di Brive.

Filmmaker and curator, she has lived in New York for twenty years and has shown her films and videos at museums, galleries, and festivals, winning numerous awards. She has made several film portraits of avant-garde directors, musicians and artists such as the Kuchar brothers, Guy Maddin, Richard Foreman, Tony Conrad, Genesis P-Orridge, Alan Vega, Peter Hristoff, and of the “Liberace of lucha libre” Saul Almendariz aka Cassandro. Losier’s films are regularly shown at prestigious venues such as Cannes, Berlinale, Rotterdam, IDFA, The Tate Modern, MoMA, Le Palais de Tokyo, Le Centre Georges Pompidou, La Cinémathèque Française. In recent years Losier has been the coordinator and director for first-year MFA cinema students at La Head – Genève. Felix in Wonderland (2019) was presented at Locarno Film Festival when, in the same year, Sicilia Queer filmfest paid an homage to her with the section Presenze; in 2024 Peaches Goes Bananas debutes at the Venice’s Giornate degli Autori; in 2025 Barking in the Dark, about the music band The Residents, is screened in Rotterdam and in Brive.
