C’è un piccolo negozio a Palermo, tra il quartiere di Ballarò e via Roma, in cui si cuciono borse, vestiti e sogni. È Quir Fattoamano di Massimo Milani e Gino Campanella, una bottega che è anche un ritrovo per la comunità LGBTQIAP+ panormita, un incrocio di persone e identità che arricchiscono il loro quotidiano tramite lo scambio, il consiglio, e soprattutto lo scherzo. Vivian Bellina e Charlie Abbadessa sono solo due dei tanti che da Quir possono fare agli altri (e a loro stessi) le domande giuste. Domande che l’attore Ernesto Tomasini si pone anche alla luce del suo rientro forzato nel capoluogo siciliano per assistere la madre malata.
Il motivo che tiene assieme queste anime – “puri corpi, semplici realtà” – non è ideologico, non è aprioristico. Se è politico, certo è apartitico. È spontaneo, ed è il modo con cui Nicola Bellucci riesce a accostarli, tra rivelazioni anti-stereotipiche e rivendicazioni sia sociali che anti-sociali perché la società sta stretta in tutti i sensi ed è ora che ci si riconosca come “semplici realtà” per poter lavorare a una vera libertà. Tramite i gesti, tramite la parola, tramite un film.

There is a small shop in Palermo, between the Ballarò neighbourhood and Via Roma, where bags, clothes and dreams are sewn. It is Quir Fattoamano by Massimo Milani and Gino Campanella, a shop that is also a meeting place for the Palermo’s LGBTQIAP+ community, a crossroads of people and identities that enrich their daily lives through exchange, advice, and above all jokes. Vivian Bellina and Charlie Abbadessa are just two of the many who go to Quir in order to ask others (and themselves) the correct questions. The same questions that the actor Ernesto Tomasini asks himself too during his forced return to the Sicilian capital to assist his sick mother.
These souls – “pure bodies, simple realities” – are not held together by some ideological or aprioristic reasons. If they are political, they are so beyond parties. It is something spontaneous, as much as it is the way Nicola Bellucci manages to bring them together in the movie, between anti-stereotypical revelations and both social and anti-social claims because society is tight in every possible sense and it is time that we recognize ourselves as “simple realities” to be able to work towards true freedom. Through gestures, through words, through a film.
