La studentessa d’architettura Bruna vuole rinnovare il convento che si trova al centro di Piazza Magione a Palermo. Questo vuol dire fare i conti con le gioie e le contraddizioni di una piazza che è soprattutto una comunità: c’è la gente che vive nei palazzi attorno ad essa, ci sono i giovani che vi si riuniscono, e c’è anche un’associazione che si occupa del luogo e degli eventi che vi si organizzano.
Da una situazione di apparente semplicità Bruna però si perde, nell’enigma irrisolvibile delle burocrazie e nella tensione di un rischio ambivalente: un rinnovamento sarebbe valorizzazione o snaturalizzazione?

Architecture student Bruna wants to renovate the convent located in the center of Piazza Magione in Palermo. This means dealing with the joys and contradictions of a square that is above all a community: there are the people who live in the buildings around it, there are young people who gather there, and there is also an association that takes care of the place and the events that are organized there.
From a situation of apparent simplicity, Bruna, however, gets lost in the unsolvable enigma of bureaucracies and in the tension of an ambivalent risk: would a renovation be valorisation or denaturalization?

Nata a Parigi, ha studiato letteratura e si è poi laureata alla INSAS Film School di Brussels, indirizzo regia. Ha realizzato due cortometraggi a Palermo (Elezioni nel 2018, Palermo Sole Nero nel 2021); il secondo è stato presentato in festival come il Cinéma du Réel e il Beijing International Short Film Festival. Rumori della Kalsa, prodotto dalla televisione francese, è il suo ultimo film.

Born in Paris, she studied literature and then graduated from the INSAS Film School in Brussels, directing section. She made two short films in Palermo (Elezioni in 2018, Palermo Sole Nero in 2021); the second one was presented in festivals such as Cinéma du Réel and Beijing International Short Film Festival. Rumori della Kalsa, produced by French television, is her latest film.
