C’è preoccupazione nell’aria. La terra trema in un giardino, alcune persone la sentono tremare col tatto, con l’udito, e improvvisamente si perdono. Il mondo diventa un ventaglio di indizi, ma sembrano tutti inani, vuoti. Le sensazioni ci portano lontani con la forza di migliaia di onde.
Un enigma firmato col riconoscibilissimo tratto di Helena Wittmann, un uso della pellicola quanto più tattile tanto più i sensi diventano ingannevoli, tanto più il tatto la vista l’udito non dicono altro che l’accadere delle cose, e i parametri con cui valutiamo la realtà si perdono, secondo i punti di vista, in un mondo di possibilità o in un abisso.

There is worry in the air. The earth trembles in a garden, some people feel it with their touch, with their hearing, and suddenly they are lost. The world becomes a fan of clues, but they all seem inane, empty. Sensations carry us far away with the force of thousands of waves.
An enigma signed with the very recognizable style of Helena Wittmann, a use of film that is the more tactile the more the senses become deceptive, the more touch sight and hearing say nothing but the happening of things, and the parameters with which we evaluate reality are lost, depending on the point of view, in a world of possibilities or in an abyss.

Regista e artista residente ad Amburgo, Germania, ha realizzato due lungometraggi, Drift (2017) e Human Flowers of Flesh (2022), che sono stati mostrati in festival internazionali come Locarno, Venezia, Toronto, New York, Rotterdam, Oberhausen, Viennale, FIDMarseille etc. Ha insegnato all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Amburgo dal 2015-2018 e ha lavorato come mentore all’Elias Querejeta Zine Eskola di San Sebastián in Spagna.

Artist and filmmaker based in Hamburg, Germany, she made two feature films, Drift (2017) and Human Flowers of Flesh (2022), that have been shown in international film festivals like Locarno, Venice, Toronto, New York, Rotterdam, Oberhausen, Viennale, FIDMarseille etc. She has been teaching at Hamburg Academy of Fine Arts from 2015-2018 and worked as mentor at Elias Querejeta Zine Eskola in San Sebastián, Spain.
