Sceneggiatore, regista, attore e fotografo. I suoi film sono spesso incentrati su persone emarginate che resistono all’oppressione strutturale. Nel 2014 ha scritto, diretto e prodotto il suo primo film, The Night, incentrato sulle vite dei giovani lavoratori del sesso in Cina. Presentato a Berlino, il film ha vinto numerosi premi. Nel 2017 ha co-prodotto un adattamento teatrale giapponese di The Night. È un ex-studente de La Résidence. Ha inoltre preso parte alla Berlinale Talents (2021), al Talents Tokyo (2018), e al Xining First Training Camp (2017). Ha lavorato allo sviluppo di film presso Coproduction Office (Parigi) e douban.com (Pechino). Nel 2021 ha ricevuto una sovvenzione dall’organizzazione no-profit Art With Impact, per la quale ha diretto un cortometraggio sulla salute mentale degli immigrati in Iowa. Ha diversi lungometraggi in programma, a proposito di tematiche legate all’immigrazione. I corti Frozen Out (2021) e Future Flowers (2022) sono stati già selezionati in concorso nella sezione Queer Shorts del Sicilia Queer filmfest 2021 e 2023. I suoi ultimi lavori sono stati selezionati a Locarno e a Rotterdam.

Screenwriter, director, actor, and photographer. His films often center on marginalized people resisting structural oppression. In 2014 he wrote, directed and produced his first feature, The Night, about young, queer sex workers in China. After premiering at the Berlin International Film Festival, The Night won many prizes. In 2017 he co-produced a Japanese stage adaptation of the film. He is an alumnus of La Résidence. He has further refined his filmmaking skill-set at Berlinale Talents (2021), Talents Tokyo (2018), and Xining First Training Camp (2017). He has worked in film development at Coproduction Office (Paris) and douban.com (Beijing). In 2021 he was awarded a grant from the nonprofit Art With Impact, for which he directed a short film about immigrant mental health in Iowa. He has many feature project in schedule, concerning themes linked to immigration. His short movies Frozen Out (2021) and Future Flowers (2023) were already screened in competition at the Sicilia Queer filmfest 2021 and 2023 in the section Queer Shorts. His last works were selected in Locarno and Rotterdam.
