Jonathan Vinel

Nato nel 1988, ha studiato montaggio cinematografico a La Fémis di Parigi ed è montatore della maggior parte dei suoi cortometraggi. Insieme a Caroline Poggi esplora la linea sottile fra videogiochi e cinema. Nel 2018 ha firmato con Yann Gonzalez, Bertrand Mandico e Caroline Poggi il manifesto Flamme. Ha realizzato 14 corti con e senza Poggi fra il 2009 e oggi, presentati nei principali festival del cinema. Ha vinto alla Berlinale per il corto Tant qu’il nous reste des fusils à pompe (2014), e ha realizzato con Poggi due lungometraggi, Jessica Forever (2018) e Eat the Night (2024); il secondo era alla Quinzaine des Cinéastes dello stesso anno.

Born in 1988, he studied Film editing at La Fémis in Paris and he is the editor of most of his short films. Together with Caroline Poggi, he explores the line between video games and cinema. Nel 2018 he signed the Flamme manifesto with Yann Gonzalez, Bertrand Mandico and Caroline Poggi. He has realized 14 shorts with and without Poggi between 2009 and today, and they were presented in the principal film festivals. He won the Berlinale with the short As Long as Shotguns Remain (2014), and he made with Poggi two feature-length films, Jessica Forever (2018) and Eat the Night (2024); the latter was in the Director’s Fortnight selection in the same year.

Classe 1990, ha studiato Cinema all’università della Corsica. Fatta eccezione per il corto Chiens (2013), ha sempre co-diretto i suoi film, soprattutto con Jonathan Vinel, con cui condivide molte tematiche. Vincitrice a Berlino per As Long as Shotguns Remain (2014), ha firmato la co-regia di Ultra rêve con Gonzalez, Mandico e Vinel, oltre che ad altri corti, lunghi, fino a La fille qui explose (2024, presentato a Locarno) e alla recentissima presentazione a Berlino di Comment ça va? (2025).

Apart from the short movie Chiens (2013), she always co-directed her movies, mainly with Jonathan Vinel that shares with her many themes. Winner in Berlin for Tant qu’il nous reste des fusils à pompe (2014), she co-directed Ultra rêve with Gonzalez, Mandico and Vinel, beyond other short or feature films like The Exploding Girl (2024, presented in Locarno) and the very recent presentation in Berlin for Comment ça va? (2025).
