Nonostante i due divorzi, Flavia ha ancora la matta idea di volersi realizzare ed essere felice. Frustrata dentro questa grande famiglia allargata, si circonda di personaggi (e animali) che le permettono di affermarsi come donna caparbia, ostinata, e ancora piena di desideri. O almeno, ci provano.
La frizzante commedia di Laura Morante, la seconda dopo il francese Ciliegine del 2012, conferma la vibrante (auto)ironia di uno sguardo che sa rivedersi e rilanciarsi. Morante calibra un racconto singolare che è anche una coralità di situazioni grottesche e divertenti, riportando per esteso allo spettatore l’irto percorso di chi vuole trovare soluzioni diverse e non canoniche per essere felice. Così che diventi chiaro che non è mai troppo tardi perché si cerchi la propria autonomia – psicoanalitica, sessuale, sentimentale.

Despite the two divorces, Flavia still has the crazy idea of wanting to fulfill herself and be happy. Frustrated within this large extended family, she surrounds herself with characters (and animals) that allow her to assert herself as a stubborn, obstinate woman, still full of desires. Or at least, they try.
Laura Morante's sparkling comedy, the second after the French Cherry on the Cake in 2012, confirms the vibrant (self) irony of a gaze that knows how to review and relaunch itself. Morante calibrates a singular story that is also a chorus of grotesque and funny situations, reporting in full to the viewer the fraught path of those who want to find different and non-canonical solutions to be happy. So that it becomes clear that it is never too late to seek one's own autonomy - psychoanalytically, sexually, sentimentally.

Attrice teatrale e cinematografica, nonché regista, nasce a Santa Fiora in provincia di Grosseto nel 1956 ed esordisce a teatro con Carmelo Bene, per poi comparire sul grande schermo in Oggetti smarriti (1980) di Giuseppe Bertolucci. Nel corso degli anni appare nei film di registi del calibro di Bernardo Bertolucci, Nanni Moretti, João César Monteiro, Vicente Aranda, Alain Resnais, Mario Monicelli e tanti altri, e lavora a fianco di attori come John Malkovich, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Marcello Mastroianni e Jean Reno. Nel 2012 firma la regia di Ciliegine, segue nel 2016 Assolo. Ha vinto il Nastro d’Argento per l’interpretazione in L’amore è eterno finché dura (2004) di Carlo Verdone, ed è stata pluri-candidata al David di Donatello, vincendolo nel 2001 per La stanza del figlio di Nanni Moretti.

In 2012, she directed Cherry on the Cake, followed in 2016 by Solo. She won the Nastro d'Argento for her performance in Love Is Eternal While It Lasts (2004) by Carlo Verdone, and was nominated several times for the David di Donatello, winning it in 2001 for The Son's Room by Nanni Moretti.
