Emily è tramortita dal senso di responsabilità. Orfana di madre e oppressa dal suo recente passato, viene incoraggiata dal padre a raggiungere un campo estivo dove può fare l’animatrice insieme ad altre coetanee e coetanei. Ma l’iniziale apparenza di un luogo religioso e opprimente si rompe: Clara, Rosie, Hop e le altre “ragazze del mucchio” sono dedite allo sballo, al divertimento, ai falò notturni. E forse ad altri tipi di attività…
Avalon Fast è una delle voci più incoraggianti, fresche e riconoscibili della “nouvelle vague” queer nord americana insieme a Louise Weard, Vera Drew, Jane Schoenbrun e tant* altr*. In CAMP combina in un cocktail ammaliante il cinema e la tv di genere anni ’90 (The Craft), il racconto di formazione, il New Age e il teen horror, arrivando al racconto commosso e psichedelico dell’ingresso nella vita adulta come se fosse un salto nel vuoto, o un’ipnosi vampiresca.

Emily is overwhelmed by the sense of responsibility. Motherless and burdened by her recent past, she is encouraged by her father to attend a summer camp where she can work as a counselor alongside other girls her age. But the initial appearance of a religious and oppressive place shatters: Clara, Rosie, Hop, and the other "girls in the crowd" are dedicated to getting high, having fun, and nightly bonfires. And perhaps other activities...
Avalon Fast is one of the most encouraging, fresh and recognizable voices of the North American queer "new wave," alongside Louise Weard, Vera Drew, Jane Schoenbrun, and many others. In CAMP, she mesmerizes '90s genre films and TV (The Craft), coming-of-age stories, New Age and teen horror, arriving at a moving and psychedelic tale of entering adulthood as if it were a leap into the unknown, or a vampire's hypnosis.

Sceneggiatrice e regista originaria di Vancouver Island, nella Columbia Britannica. Nel 2019 ha girato il suo primo film di genere a budget zero, Honeycomb, che è entrato a far parte della selezione ufficiale dello Slamdance Festival del 2022. Da lì il film ha intrapreso un tour di festival, tra cui Boston Underground, Calgary Underground, Etheria LA, Fantasia e molti altri. Nel 2022 ha iniziato a scrivere il suo secondo lungometraggio, CAMP, presentato tra gli altri all'IndieLisboa. Definisce il suo genere cinematografico GIRL HORROR, poiché le sue storie si concentrano sugli inquietanti orrori della crescita, in particolare con personaggi femminili. Il suo ultimo film, Drinking and Driving, è stato presentato nel 2026 al Los Angeles Festival of Movies.

Writer and director from Vancouver Island, BC. In 2019 they shot their first no-budget genre film, Honeycomb. Honeycomb went on to be a part of the 2022 official Slamdance Festival selection and from there continued a festival tour including Boston Underground, Calgary Underground, Etheria LA, Fantasia, and many more. They began writing their second feature CAMP in 2022, and it was presented among others at the IndieLisboa. They refer to their genre of filmmaking as GIRL HORROR, as their stories focus on the eerie horrors of growing up, specifically with female influence. Their last movie, Drinking and Driving, was presented in 2026 at the Los Angeles Festival of Movies.
