Adnan è un giovane stagista in una galleria d’arte di New York. È il luogo perfetto per una serie di incontri singolari: l’anziano artista Sal, l’intrigante corriere Yariel, e tanti altri soggetti che porteranno la sua vita su direzioni impreviste e inconsuete. La città diventerà campagna, e la vita solitaria di Adnan si popolerà di persone, sesso, corpi. Sempre che bastino ad affrontare la solitudine.
Attraverso tre segmenti distinti, tra i quali sprofondano delle ellissi narrative nella vita del protagonista, Lucio Castro intreccia i generi trovando nel minimalismo della sua messa in scena il più fruttuoso stratagemma per interfacciarsi con Adnan, con i suoi desideri inespressi, non concedendo mai una vera catarsi in un mondo in cui la ricerca dell’orgasmo è una posa disincarnata.

Adnan is a young intern at an art gallery in New York. It is the perfect setting for a series of unusual encounters: the elderly artist Sal, the intriguing courier Yariel and many other individuals who will steer his life in unpredictable and unconventional directions. The city will turn into countryside, and Adnan’s solitary life will become populated with people, sex, bodies. If they could ever be enough to confront loneliness.
Through three distinct segments, punctuated by narrative ellipses in the protagonist’s life, Lucio Castro weaves genres together, finding in the minimalism of his staging the most effective way to engage with Adnan and his unspoken desires, never granting true catharsis in a world where the pursuit of orgasm is a disembodied pose.

Nato a Buenos Aires, in Argentina, ha conseguito un BFA presso il Center for Film Experimentation di Buenos Aires prima di trasferirsi a New York per studiare alla New School.
Il suo lungometraggio d’esordio, Fin de sieglo, è stato presentato in anteprima al New Directors/New Films al MoMA nel 2019 ed è stato successivamente proiettato al Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema, dove ha vinto il premio per il Miglior Film nella Competizione Nazionale. Il secondo lungometraggio di Castro, After This Death, basato su una sceneggiatura originale da lui scritta, è stato presentato in anteprima al Festival Internazionale del Cinema di Berlino nel 2025. Drunken Noodles è il suo terzo lungometraggio e ha debuttato alla sezione ACID di Cannes nel 2025. Insegna inoltre come Adjunct Professor nel Graduate Film Program della NYU Tisch.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he earned a BFA from the Center for Film Experimentation in Buenos Aires before moving to New York to study at The New School. His debut feature, End of the Century, premiered at New Directors/New Films at MoMA in 2019 and later screened at the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema, where it won the Best Film Award in the National Competition. Castro’s second feature, After This Death, based on an original script he wrote, premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2025. Drunken Noodles is his third feature, and premiered at Cannes ACID 2025. He also teaches as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Film Program at NYU Tisch.
