Siamo nel 1997. Eva, madre ma anche figliola prodiga di una ricca famiglia svizzera, si riappropria della figlia Linda, di norma sotto la tutela della nonna, e la porta a casa sua a Ferrara. Lì Linda incrocerà la sua strada con quella di altre due bambine, Azzurra e Marta, e con un’umanità variegata di genitori e babysitter queer, farà così esperienza dell’assoluta incomunicabilità fra la generazione delle madri e la generazione delle figlie.
L’esordio alla finzione delle sorelle Bertani è un viaggio pop e sensoriale nella fantasia delle bambine e nel feticismo dell’essere genitori. Linda, Azzurra e Marta riescono a creare una mappa delle meraviglie tra le strade anonime di Ferrara mentre il mondo degli adulti a malapena le vede, rivendicandole come proprietà e lasciando solo intravedere, in brevissime parentesi, l’affetto sincero. Un’avventura in grado di allinearsi all’entusiasmo infantile con ammirabile energia.

We are in 1997. Eva, both a mother and prodigal daughter of a wealthy Swiss family, reclaims her daughter Linda, who’s normally under the care of her grandmother, and takes her to her home in Ferrara. There, Linda crosses paths with two other girls, Azzurra and Marta, and with a varied community of parents and queer babysitters, thus experiencing the absolute lack of communication between the generation of mothers and that of daughters.
The fiction debut of the Bertani sisters is a pop and sensorial journey into children’s imagination and the fetishism of parenthood. Linda, Azzurra and Marta manage to create a map of wonders across the anonymous streets of Ferrara, while the adult world barely sees them, claiming them as property and only occasionally revealing sincere affection. An adventure that’s capable of aligning itself with childhood enthusiasm with admirable energy.

Nata nel 1985, è direttrice creativa, grafica e regista. Frequenta un corso in Art Direction e Comunicazione allo IED di Milano, e dopo alcune esperienze lavorative da Art Director si appassiona a grafica e tipografia, specializzandosi in questo campo a Londra. Realizza videoclip insieme alla sorella Valentina per artiste e artisti come Dolcenera e Ligabue. Ha lavorato come creative director della rivista “Look Lateral” e presso Freeda. Ha realizzato spot pubblicitari con la sorella per marchi come Bvlgari e Iliad. È title designer per La timidezza delle chiome (2022), girato dalla sorella. Le bambine è il suo esordio.

Born in 1985, she is a creative director, graphic designer and filmmaker. She attended a course in Art Direction and Communication at IED in Milan, and after some work experience as an art director, she became interested in graphic design and typography, later specializing in this field in London. Together with her sister Valentina, she has directed music videos for artists such as Dolcenera and Ligabue. She has worked as creative director for the magazine “Look Lateral” and at Freeda. She has also directed commercials with her sister for brands such as Bvlgari and Iliad. She is the title designer for The Crown Shyness (2022), directed by her sister. Moskitoes is her debut film.

Nata nel 1984, fondatrice con la sorella Nicole di una band, realizza videoclip, spot pubblicitari, ed è regista de La timidezza delle chiome, presentato a Venezia nel 2022. Il suo esordio, girato insieme a Nicole, Le bambine, esordisce a Locarno 2025 in concorso.

Born in 1984, she co-founded a band with her sister Nicole. She has directed music videos and commercials, and is the director of The Crown Shyness, which premiered in Venice in 2022. Her debut feature, co-directed with Nicole, Mosquitoes, premieres in competition at Locarno 2025.
