Una voce maschile e una femminile, un insegnante e un’allieva: una conversazione dalle coordinate ambigue che si fa presto duello dialettico il cui scopo è quello di far coincidere la morale umana con quella della macchina.
In questo corto sperimentale viene illustrato il processo di addestramento di una AI. Il dubbio è su chi sia al comando e su quale sia il valore del linguaggio nei processi di riconoscimento reciproco e validazione dell’identità. I processi di programmazione dell’AI sono segnati dal vissuto personale del programmatore dietro la macchina, e quindi non sono neutri ma informati delle logiche emotive che sottostanno all’umano. Un’interrogazione sul nostro rapporto con lo strumento e le sue possibili manipolazioni, sul confine sempre più sfumato tra noi e un’AI che acquisisce i nostri tratti identitari.

A male and a female voice, a teacher and a student: a conversation with ambiguous coordinates that quickly becomes a dialectical duel aimed at aligning human morality with that of the machine.
This experimental short illustrates the training process of an AI. The question arises as to who is in charge and what value language plays in the processes of mutual recognition and identity validation. AI programming processes are shaped by the personal experiences of the programmer behind the machine, and they are therefore not neutral but informed by the emotional logic underlying the human. A movie that questions our relationship with the tool and its potential manipulations, and the increasingly blurred line between us and an AI that acquires our identity traits.

Artista multimediale che opera tra San Paolo e Berlino e i cui lavori sono stati esposti in musei e istituti di tutto il mondo. Da regista realizza il lungometraggio di finzione Reverse Proxy (2015) insieme a Roberto Winter, interamente composto da screenshot e schermate web.

He is a multimedia artist working between São Paulo and Berlin; his works have been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. As a filmmaker, he co-directed the feature-length fiction film Reverse Proxy (2015) with Roberto Winter, composed entirely of screenshots and web pages.
Matias Mariani

Dopo la laurea alla NYU Tisch School of the Arts, lavora principalmente come produttore cinematografico, realizzando film come Fish Dreams (2006) e Drained (2006) e Adrift (2009), selezionati a Cannes e al Sundance. Come regista firma il documentario I Touched All Your Stuff, presentato al FID Marseille 2014, e il film di finzione Shine Your Eyes, passato in anteprima nella sezione Panorama del festival di Berlino 2020.

After graduating from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, he has worked primarily as a film producer, making films such as Fish Dreams (2006), Drained (2006) and Adrift (2009), which were selected for Cannes and Sundance Film Festival. As a director, he helmed the documentary I Touched All Your Stuff, presented at FID Marseille 2014, and the fiction film Shine Your Eyes, which premiered in the Panorama sidebar of the 2020 Berlin Film Festival.
Roberto Winter

È un artista multidisciplinare laureato in fisica. Ha co-diretto Reverse Proxy con Guilherme Peters e co-sceneggiato Shine Your Eyes di Matias Mariani, oltre che il film vincitore del Pardo d’Oro al fesival di Locarno 2022, Regra 34 di Júlia Murat.

He is a multidisciplinary artist with a bachelor's degree in physics. He co-directed Reverse Proxy with Guilherme Peters and co-wrote the screenplay for Matias Mariani's Shine Your Eyes and for Rule 34 by Júlia Murat, the Golden Leopard winner at the 2022 Locarno Film Festival.
