A character from a strange video game - something like a virtual extension of conversations on gay dating apps - wanders through the game world, encountering numerous men who try to attract his attention. In the game, he takes the form of an elf, yet he is identified as Arab by the other players, becoming both an object of irresistible desire for white men and a target of racial hatred from the police who inhabit and monitor the game.
Bonheur Suprême crafts a short film on the perception of otherness in the online world. Certain social dynamics are amplified by anonymity, while others are overturned; identities, though more fluid, become subject to scrutiny and analysis, never truly left free. The video game thus becomes an intersectional microcosm, not exempt from the logic of the outside world: ethnicity and sexuality remain under a harsh magnifying glass.

The user LonerWolf58 is a regular in incel forums, populated by lonely men who blame women for their misfortunes. While he is alive, he is just one among many spreading fake news and misogyny online; but after his death, his content goes viral, prompting a sentient artificial intelligence to set out to eliminate LonerWolf58 once and for all. But who is this entity that addresses the audience directly and declares war on the incel user? From the way it speaks, it seems like the personification of the Internet itself - a network capable of reflecting on its own nature and on the power dynamics at play within digital spaces. It challenges the usual hierarchy that places the web in a subordinate position to the user.
It is on these premises that director Loïc Hobi envisions a world populated by torn, fragmented, decaying images, in keeping with the desire to eradicate the darkest sides of the Internet.

Faceless men photograph themselves until every inch of their bodies is revealed. Hundreds, perhaps thousands of bodies emerge through these intimate images, creating a kind of X-ray of desire in the age of the web.
Drawing on a vast archive of private and public images - from online forums and Grindr albums - director Antonio Da Silva assembles a compelling cinematic composition that explores male sexuality through bodily self-representation and digital habits. In Pix, still images generate an illusion of movement through a frenetic juxtaposition in which the boundaries between individual images, between public and private, between the self and the collective, become increasingly blurred. The final result is a collective portrait that gives rise to a new digital entity - a new man composed of the slides of many others’ desires.

After the sudden appearance of never-before-seen plants, trees, and flowers, a series of mysterious events takes place in the city, whose or origin Camelia and Nala attempt to trace. The irruption of the unexpected into everyday life, and the ensuing eruption of disorientation, give shape to a reflection that intertwines ecological and socio-political questions, redefining the relationship between the familiar and the natural. These vegetal presences, emerging like foreign bodies within the urban space, embody an uncanny force capable of unsettling the customary order of things, just as war disarticulates the status quo, or unexpected weather events disrupt the natural balances we had taken for granted. Moving between political transformation, ecological unease, and magical imagination, the film turns artistic freedom into a space where reality can be deformed and the imaginary allowed to bloom.

How can a dominant narrative, long sedimented in the collective imagination, be subverted, and agency be restored to those to whom it has been denied? What operation must be performed to grant visibility to subjectivities systematically relegated to the margins?
Drawing on archival materials from pre-revolutionary Iranian cinema, Maryam Tafakory imagines the story of Daria, a woman trapped in a heterosexual marriage, who entrusts to the secret pages of a diary her love for a mysterious girl named Abi (Blu). The night flowers in her garden, endowed with powers, show her a salvific route of escape from the oppression of patriarchal control. Thus Daria disappears, performing a radical act of affirmation of her own identity and lesbian desire.

Extensive, luxuriant inflorescences, flecked with vivid colours. Meadows in bloom on a usurped and dehumanised land that no longer resembles itself, and towards which it now seems impossible to claim any sense of belonging. Unspeakable violence concealed behind the fragile beauty of nature. The archival images of the 1930s and 1940s that unfold before our eyes restore a world that has now disappeared, erased by the imaginaries, narratives, and horrors of the present. A poetic and political essay that questions the role of image-making as both an instrument of violence and a form of testimony, especially when it encounters the profound bond between humans and the land. By reclaiming archival material as a form of memory and resistance in an uncertain time like our own, the film becomes a gesture of opposition to the systematic cultural erasure that the occupation has long sought to impose on Palestine.

Mina is in Cannes, during the festival; yet the festival is only glimpsed from the margins, outside the perimeter of luxury and glitter.
For three nights, we follow her in the moments before and after her performances, moving through backstage areas, clubs and hotel rooms; as she talks with friends and lovers; as she gets ready, observes the world around her, and enjoys herself. Nans Laborde-Jourdáa’s gaze, imbued with love for his protagonist, lingers on liminal and transitional moments, drawn to small, intimate situations that appear ordinary. His film, elegant and free, is above all a passionate portrait of the magnetic Mina, and of her dance of seduction with the camera.

There, he meets his friend Bernardino Femminielli, dresses him, and carefully prepares him for one of his provocative variety performances.
The Eldorado club is a Lynchian, gloomy yet mesmerizing place: a paradise in decay, populated by elusive presences, ambiguous and dreamlike figures. Through disorienting situations, suspended between beauty and squalor, Anton Bialas evokes a present in dissolution, a world governed by incomprehensible logics and corruption, destined to implode. Faced with the tragedy of the end, the melancholy and off-kilter protagonists are left with nothing but a plate of soft oysters, a moving song, and one last game of seduction.

[eng]
Haunted by the memory of an absent and violent father, Paul moves restlessly through the Berlin night, letting himself be touched by fleeting encounters that only deepen his loneliness. Over the course of this nocturnal drift – a fragmented search for belonging, a fragile movement toward places he does not feel he belongs to – Paul oscillates between the desire to let go and the fear of looking within. Yearning for connection, reaching toward some possible shore, he passes through the noise of sex and the silence of night, the face of a stranger and the threshold of home, the urban jungle and the damp countryside, with the same muted warmth. Yet his fractured soul seems unable to find peace.
Filming, with both grace and rigor, the spleen of his wandering protagonist, Paolo Laganà succeeds in rendering the image of his inner turmoil, painting an emotional landscape steeped in melancholy and unease, but also in a poignant, aching beauty.

Cairo, 2007.

Cairo, 2007. “I have returned to Cairo. For work. You changed your phone number, Omar. I have to find you. I love you… Abdellah.” Filmmaker Abdellah Taïa wanders through the streets of Cairo with his handycam, searching for his lost love, Omar. But who, or what, is Abdellah really looking for? His desiring gaze is reflected in the mirror of his apartment and moves through the streets, meeting the gazes of other men, including the gentle and melancholic one of renowned director Youssef Chahine, whom Abdellah meets a year before his death.
In a country where the rights of LGBT people are not recognized, the filmmaker’s digital caress brings us into contact with a vibrant, vital city, full of traces of stories that lead to other stories, in search of a lover who is ultimately the city itself. The “you” to whom the director addresses his messages of love becomes an expanded body, in a cinema that rejects solitude.

Do you hate me?”: these are the questions Ollie asks Sterre, who is backed into a corner by the filmmaker’s insecurity, expressed in a diary entry: “Being trans means failing”. Yet Sterre sidesteps the big questions and manages to take control of his own narrative, ultimately challenging the power of the one who asks the questions and of the one who holds the camera, in a constant tension between the two lovers, who then decide together how to bring their mise en scène to a close.

Elly and Dixie reconnect after a lifetime apart, only to misunderstand each other in a new light. In 2015, the stern image of Dixie, Elly’s grandfather, is transformed before her eyes; his coming out as gay to his queer granddaughter ushers in a new chapter in their relationship, chronicled in their correspondence. Two years later, Elly leaves Berlin to visit him in Michigan, and there she witnesses the power of the “cross-dressing” practice and decides she will do it with Dixie. Elly’s desire to play with bodies and gender aesthetics does not stir the same impulses and fantasies in Dixie: their distance is measurable in decades.
The documentary by Lilli Strakerjahn and Elly Jarvis paints an intimate family portrait that is not without contradictions. In the dynamics between grandfather and granddaughter, it reveals the closeness and separation brought about by “queer” that has embraced experiences from multiple places and times.

In the mountains of southern Italy, shy Luca's passion for Valerio, an older motorcycle enthusiast, silently and distantly unfolds. Luca finds in Valerio's motorbike an extension of his desire, almost a prosthesis of the body he so longs for. But the carnal encounter between the two won't necessarily be enough to vent an obsession of seemingly pure fetishism.
La moto isn't just about coming out and omission of one's true desires: between the sweaty bodies and the fixed gazes, there's a panorama of southern Italy as a place that’s transfigured, suspended, deformed by passion. Giampetruzzi looks to João Pedro Rodrigues’cinema and his O Fantasma, and thus reformulates that formal assumption of rejected bodies, at the edges of the frame, to unleash a tension that lies somewhere between the release of frustration and a muffled cry of pain in the off-screen.

We are in 1997. Eva, both a mother and prodigal daughter of a wealthy Swiss family, reclaims her daughter Linda, who’s normally under the care of her grandmother, and takes her to her home in Ferrara. There, Linda crosses paths with two other girls, Azzurra and Marta, and with a varied community of parents and queer babysitters, thus experiencing the absolute lack of communication between the generation of mothers and that of daughters.
The fiction debut of the Bertani sisters is a pop and sensorial journey into children’s imagination and the fetishism of parenthood. Linda, Azzurra and Marta manage to create a map of wonders across the anonymous streets of Ferrara, while the adult world barely sees them, claiming them as property and only occasionally revealing sincere affection. An adventure that’s capable of aligning itself with childhood enthusiasm with admirable energy.

Kris, a queer director sensitive to LGBT issues and particularly to how cinema has evoked transphobic sentiments in its most popular horror classics, accepts the assignment to shoot a "correct" remake of Camp Miasma, a sort of fictional cross between Friday the 13th and Sleepaway Camp. To do so, they decide to visit the set of the original film, where, strangely enough, the first film's star, Billie, lives. Their encounter is like an erotic and disturbing hypnosis session: something happens on that set, and the horror of the original film never looked so real.
Jane Schoenbrun's fourth film, which boasts the charming femme fatale Gillian Anderson, is a dreamlike horror comedy that questions the boundaries of what is permissible and what is not in the twisted world of political correctness. And it proceeds, surprise after surprise, towards a fascinating and cathartic conclusion that is quite unforgettable.

In a restaurant in Paris, surrounded by friends, Jean-François Stévenin tells himself: the cinema, Truffaut, Depardieu, Johnny, his own films, his drunkenness. And above all, his meeting with Lucette Destouches, widow of Louis-Ferdinand Céline, their friendship, the film project that never came to happen and that perhaps on that day, in that restaurant, through the power and the humour of the story, through Stévenin's habit of always carrying a tiny camera with him, in a certain way, will finally come true.

Rachel and Nick are a married couple of filmmakers, lovers of horror and of terrifying experiences. Together with Rachel’s longtime close friend, Christian, they have always made small amateur horror shorts, never ceasing to find new occasions to have fun together. In 2023, Rachel and Nick’s new plan is to buy an abandoned house at a bargain price and shoot a horror film there with Christian. They succeed, but it’s not the horror they intended to make: mysterious people wander around the house, stop in front of the front door, and stare at it, petrified. And inside the house, not everything seems to be functioning normally either.
Many things happen within Rachel Kempf and Nick Toti’s independent horror film, but just as much happens off-screen, and the disappearance of one of the characters evokes a world of paranoia in which not even a passion for horror can keep up with Evil.
