Il Covid-19 si è infiltrato nelle crepe delle iniquità sociali per irradiarne la potenza, ha frammentato i visi e filtrato i corpi, lasciando intatti i pregiudizi che li attorniavano. Ping, studente di filosofia, ne fa esperienza in Germania, luogo che sembra confinarlo nell’immagine di untore proveniente dalla Cina, dov’è stato registrato il primo caso del virus. Attraverso un’app di incontri, però, riesce a trovare il contatto umano e sessuale di cui era alla ricerca: sicuro, in presenza e a distanza, nessun rischio, se non quello di ricevere un’improvvisa epifania hegeliana…
Wegen Hegel gioca con i contorni della colonizzazione e dell’esotizzazione operata dall’Occidente, immergendosi nelle luci strobo delle potenziali fughe da queste dinamiche. Perché tutto ciò che è razionale, è (iper)reale.

Ping, philosophy student, experiences this in Germany, a place that seems to confine him to the image of a plague-bearer from China, where the first case of the virus was recorded. Through a dating app, however, he manages to find the human and sexual contact he was seeking: safe, in-person and remote, no risk—except that of receiving a sudden Hegelian epiphany…
Wegen Hegel plays with the contours of colonization and exoticization carried out by the West, immersing itself in the strobe lights of potential escapes from these dynamics. Because everything that is rational is (hyper)real.
