Lara è stata appena ammessa alla scuola di danza classica dei suoi sogni. Grazie al sostegno della sua famiglia e alla sua perseveranza, la quindicenne riesce perfino ad attirare l’attenzione dei suoi insegnanti, che la premiano per la sua costante disciplina. L’unica cosa che Lara non riesce però a controllare è il suo corpo: un corpo vivo e in piena tempesta ormonale. Il corpo di un ragazzo. Un corpo che non le appartiene e di cui si vuole disfare il prima possibile.

Lara was just admitted to her classical ballet dream school. Thanks to the support of her family and his perseverance, the 15-year-old girl is even able to get the attention of her instructors, which praise her for her constant discipline. The only thing Lara cannot control is her body: a living body and in the middle of a hormonal rage. The body of a boy. A body that doesn’t belong to her and of which she wants to get rid of as soon as possible.

Regista e sceneggiatore belga nato a Ghent nel 1991. Dopo aver diretto i due corti Headlong (2012) e L’Infini (2014), ha realizzato il suo lungometraggio di debutto nel 2018 con Girl. Il film è stato presentato nel 2018 al Cannes Film Festival, dove ha vinto il premio Caméra d’Or per la miglior opera prima e la Queer Palm. Ha inoltre ricevuto il premio André Cavens per il Miglior Film assegnatogli dall’Associazione dei Critici dei Film Belga (UCC) ed è stato selezionato come il candidato belga per il Miglior Film Straniero ai 91esimi Academy Awards.

He is a Belgian film director and screenwriter born in Ghent in 1991. After directing the two short films Headlong (2012) and L'Infini (2014) he made his feature-length debut in 2018 with Girl. The film premiered at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Caméra d'Or award for best first feature film, as well as the Queer Palm. It received the André Cavens Award for Best Film given by the Belgian Film Critics Association (UCC) and was selected as the Belgian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards.
