Francisco decide di aiutare la sua amica Flavia nella ristrutturazione di un vecchio appartamento. Durante i lavori di rifacimento, la stessa esigenza di rinnovamento sembra innescarsi nell’animo di Francisco. Egli non sembra infatti accettarsi pienamente. Non si tratta di una mancata accettazione della propria identità sessuale, bensì del suo aspetto fisico caratterizzato dall’obesità. Man mano che procedono i lavori nell’appartamento, si infittisce il confronto tra Francisco e Flavia: le rivelazioni di lui, i consigli di lei e i nuovi incontri porteranno forse Francisco a una maggiore consapevolezza?
Fábio Leal, attore e regista, mette tutta la sua fisicità a disposizione di una storia che alterna diurno e notturno, paura e desiderio, scandagliando il suo stesso corpo attraverso l’occhio della macchina da presa.

Francisco decides to help his friend Flavia renovating an old apartment. During the reconstruction works, the same need for renewal seems to be triggered in Francisco's soul. He does not seem to fully accept himself. It is not a matter of not accepting his own sexual identity, but rather his physical appearance which is characterized by obesity. As the work in the apartment proceeds, the confrontation between Francisco and Flavia thickens: will his revelations, her advices as well as new encounters lead Francisco to greater awareness?
Fábio Leal, actor and director, puts his physicality at the disposal of a story that alternates day and night, fear and desire, scanning his own body through the eye of the camera.

È un attore, sceneggiatore e regista brasiliano. La sua carriera di attore include una partecipazione in Aquarius di Kleber Mendonça Filho, uno dei film brasiliani più importanti degli ultimi anni, premiato nel 2017 con un César come miglior film straniero. Da sceneggiatore e regista si è invece dedicato nel 2016 a O Porteiro do Dia, che parla della timidezza iniziale e della conseguente passione tra il nuovo inquilino e il portiere del palazzo. Nel 2018 è sceneggiatore, attore e regista di Reforma, incentrato sull’accettazione di sé. Con il primo ha ricevuto una menzione speciale della giuria del Curta Brasilia Festival (2017), mentre con Reforma ha vinto i premi per miglior attore e migliore sceneggiatura al Brazilia Festival of Brazilian Cinema (2018). Nel corso del 2018 sono arrivati riconoscimenti dal festival Mix Brazil, dal Goiania Short Film Festival e dal Panorama Coisa De Cinema.

He is a Brazilian actor, screenwriter and director. His acting career includes a role in Aquarius by Kleber Mendonça Filho, one of the most important Brazilian films of recent years, awarded in 2017 with a César for Best Foreign Language Film. Instead, as a screenwriter and director, in 2016 he dedicated himself to O Porteiro do Dia, which talks about the initial shyness and the consequent passion between a new tenant and the janitor of the building. In 2018 he is Reforma's writer, actor and director, a film focused on self-acceptance. With the first he received a special mention from the jury of the Curta Brasilia Festival (2017), while with Reforma he won the awards for best actor and best screenplay at the Brazilia Festival of Brazilian Cinema (2018). During 2018, he received awards from the Mix Brazil festival, Goiania Short Film Festival and Panorama Coisa De Cinema.
