In Brasile, dove in media viene uccisa una persona trans ogni tre giorni, Marilene cerca sua figlia Roberta, una donna trans che è sparita. Nella sua corsa contro il tempo scoprirà una speranza per il futuro.
La storia raccontata in Inabitável nasce dall'ondata di violenza che sta colpendo il Brasile, il paese con il tasso di omicidi di persone trans più elevato al mondo. Attraverso il cinema e attraverso il potere che il film di genere offre, Inabitável racconta la storia di un personaggio che ottiene qualcosa di diverso rispetto a ciò che si aspettava. La sofferenza e la paura sono così profonde da aprire uno squarcio nella realtà, permettendo agli elementi mutuati dalla fantascienza e dall’horror di guidare i personaggi in una direzione che li allontana dalla morte.
Sullo sfondo la città, con i suoi palazzi e le sue case di fortuna che si arrampicano in altezza, osserva silenziosa i fatti.

In Brazil, where a trans person is murdered every three days, Marilene searches for her daughter Roberta, a trans woman who went missing. While running out of time, she discovers a hope for the future.
The story narrated in Unliveable originates from the surge of violence that currently ravages Brazil, the country with the highest homicide rates of trans people in the world. Through cinema and through the power offered by horror and science-fiction movies, Unliveable tells the story of a character whose outcome is different than expected. Pain and fear are so profound that they open a fracture into reality, opening the door for the elements of science fiction to guide the characters in a direction that leads them away from death.
In the background, the city, with its high buildings and shacks, silently observes the events.

Enock Carvalho
Regista, sceneggiatore e produttore, si è laureato in comunicazione e giornalismo all'università Maurício Nassau. È anche uno dei fondatori della casa di produzione e di distribuzione Gatopardo Filmes.
Con Matheus Farias ha scritto e diretto tre cortometraggi, Inabitável, Caranguejo Rei (2019) e Quarto para Alugar (2016), selezionati in più di 120 festival.
Matheus Farias
È Membro dell'Associazione dei Professionisti del Montaggio Audiovisivo. Si è laureato in Comunicazione, Radio, TV e Internet all'UNIAESO e si è specializzato in Cinema all'Università Cattolica di Pernambuco. Ha co-fondato la Gatopardo Filmes e si occupa da 10 anni di montaggio, produzione, sceneggiatura e regia.

Enock Carvalho
Director, screenwriter and producer with a degree in Communication and Journalism from Maurício Nassau University. He is also a founding partner of Gatopardo Filmes.
Together with Matheus Faris he has written and directed three short films, Unliveable, Caranguejo Rei (2019) and Quarto para Alugar (2016), which have screened at upwards of 120 festivals worldwide.
Matheus Farias
Member of the Association of Audiovisual Editing Professionals. He holds a degree in Communication, Radio, TV and Internet from UNIAESO and a post-graduation in Cinema Studies from the Catholic University of Pernambuco. He is a founding director of Gatopardo Filmes and has 10 years’ experience in editing, production, scriptwriting and directing.
