Intrappolato a casa con delle droghe allucinogene e il suo gatto parlante, Bold cerca rifugio tra le forti braccia di strani uomini di Internet che si masturbano per raggiungere la vera felicità.
Con il suo personaggio confinato in casa, Bold Eagle fa rivivere i ricordi della reclusione durante la recente pandemia di Covid-19, quando solo gli schermi di computer e cellulari offrivano la possibilità di evasione sessuale e geografica. Il regista filippino Whammy Alcazaren propone un viaggio attraverso un montaggio di video e foto presi dal web, tra contenuti pornografici e scatti idilliaci delle Hawaii, per evocare condizioni di esistenza in cui il desiderio è suscitato esclusivamente dalle immagini digitali.

Trapped at home with hallucinogenic drugs and his talking cat, Bold seeks refuge in the strong arms of strange men from the internet as they masturbate their way to true happiness.
With its homebound character, Bold Eagle revives memories of confinement during the recent Covid-19 pandemic, when only computer and cell phone screens offered the possibility of sexual and geographical escapism. Filipino filmmaker Whammy Alcazaren takes us on a journey through a montage of videos and photos from the web, between pornographic content and idyllic shots of Hawaii, to evoke conditions of existence where desire is aroused exclusively by digital images.

Regista e designer di produzione. Si è diplomato al Mowelfund Film Institute. Come production designer ha collaborato spesso con i registi Carlo Manatad, Raya Martin e Sam Manacsa. Il suo primo cortometraggio Bold Eagle ha vinto il premio per il miglior cortometraggio internazionale al Fantasia Film Festival 2023 ed è stato proiettato al 61° New York Film Festival e al 40° Sundance Film Festival. Attualmente sta sviluppando il suo terzo lungometraggio, Noodles, Our Love was Instant and Forever.

Director and production designer. He graduated from the Mowelfund Film Institute. As production designer, he has frequently collaborated with directors Carlo Manatad, Raya Martin, and Sam Manacsa. His first short film Bold Eagle won the Prize for Best International Short at the Fantasia Film Festival 2023 and was screened at the 61st New York Film Festival and at the 40th Sundance Film Festival. He is currently developing his third feature film, Noodles, Our Love was Instant and Forever.
