Ari ha lasciato il Venezuela per intraprendere la transizione di genere. Ma anche a Palermo la libertà ha un prezzo: per trovare lavoro deve presentarsi come Cristian, un nome che non sente più suo. Mentre l’amica Laura le mostra la possibilità di un’altra vita, Ari si muove in bilico nella scelta tra identità e sopravvivenza.
La regista Teresa Nerozzi ha incontrato Ari a Palermo, ha ascoltato la sua testimonianza, e così ha potuto raccontare la sua storia, così simile a quella di molte altre persone che restano invisibili. Un documentario delicatissimo, vicino ma mai invadente, su tutto il mondo che nascondono i tempi e i gesti quotidiani di Ari.

Ari left Venezuela to begin her gender transition. But even in Palermo, freedom comes at a price: in order to find work, she has to present herself as Cristian, a name that no longer feels like her own. While her friend Laura shows her the possibility of another life, Ari moves in a delicate balance between identity and survival.
Director Teresa Nerozzi met Ari in Palermo, listened to her testimony, and through that encounter she was able to tell her story, a story so similar to that of many others who remain invisible. A deeply sensitive documentary, close yet never intrusive, about the entire world hidden within the passing of time and the everyday gestures of Ari’s life.

Classe 2000, nata e cresciuta in Toscana, si avvicina al cinema dopo il diploma artistico. Il suo primo cortometraggio, Vanitas (2023) viene presentato in festival italiani ed esteri. Nel 2025 studia al Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia sede Sicilia. Ari (2026) è il suo primo cortometraggio documentario.

Born in 2000 and raised in Tuscany, she became interested in cinema after graduating from art school. Her first short film, Vanitas (2023), was presented at Italian and international festivals. Since 2025 she has studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia sede Sicilia. Ari (2026) is her first documentary short film.
