La relazione fra Albert e Vanessa è messa a dura prova dalla crescente passione di Albert per un’intelligenza artificiale, che vive nel suo computer e cerca in modo sempre più opprimente le sue attenzioni. E il loro rapporto approda presto a una dimensione assurdamente carnale.
L’esordio cult di Louise Weard, dalla trafficatissima lavorazione, è un apparente esercizio amatoriale che sfocia nel body horror più estremo ed efficace. Prima emanazione di una riflessione più ampia su una “forma transgender” del cinema, Computer Hearts è il Tetsuo dell’era di Internet, in cui la rivendicazione di un’identità e la disumanizzazione post-umana sembrano inesorabilmente e pericolosamente intrecciate, in un vortice horror erotico irrefrenabile.

Albert and Vanessa's relationship is put in crisis by Albert's growing passion for an artificial intelligence that lives in his computer and increasingly claims his attention. Their relationship quickly descends into an absurdly carnal dimension.
Louise Weard's cult debut, released after a laborious production, is a seemingly amateurish exercise that culminates in the most extreme and effective body horror. The first expression of a broader reflection on a "transgender form" of cinema, Computer Hearts is the Tetsuo of the internet age: in the movie the reclamation of identity and the post-human dehumanization seem inexorably and dangerously intertwined in an unstoppable vortex of erotic horror.

Nata nel 1994 e cresciuta a Calgary e Saskatoon, in Canada, è regista e sceneggiatrice, laureata in Semiotica del Cinema. Ha fatto esperienza nel team effetti speciali dei film di Ryan Nicholson, e contestualmente ha prodotto e realizzato, anche con l’ausilio di Dionne Copland, il suo primo cortometraggio Computer Hearts (2015), diventato un piccolo film di culto nella comunità online di appassionati di cinema underground. Realizza anche i corti S.I.D.S. (2014) e Chasing Rewind (2016), oltre che la produzione di alcuni titoli tra cui Cold Wind Blowing (2022) di Dionne Copland e The Serpent’s Skin (2025) di Alice Maio Mackay. La sua Castration Movie Anthology, iniziata nel 2024, è tutt’ora in lavorazione; i primi capitoli sono stati presentati in vari festival fra cui Frameline, BFI Flare e Scottish Queer Film Festival. Il Sicilia Queer 2026 le dedica la sua prima retrospettiva europea.

Born in 1994 and raised in Calgary and Saskatoon, Canada, she is a director and screenwriter, with a degree in Film Semiotics. She gained experience in the special effects team of Ryan Nicholson's films, and at the same time produced and directed, also with the help of Dionne Copland, her first short film Computer Hearts (2015), which became a small cult film in the online community of underground cinema enthusiasts. She also made the shorts S.I.D.S. (2014) and Chasing Rewind (2016), as well as producing several titles including Cold Wind Blowing (2022) by Dionne Copland and The Serpent's Skin (2025) by Alice Maio Mackay. Her Castration Movie Anthology, started in 2024, is still in progress; the first chapters have been presented at various festivals including Frameline, BFI Flare and the Scottish Queer Film Festival. Sicilia Queer 2026 is dedicating its first European retrospective to her work.
