Nat* nel 1985 a Tbilisi, Georgia, è un* regista e artista visiv* residente in Svizzera. Dopo aver studiato pittura presso l'Accademia Statale di Belle Arti di Tbilisi, ha proseguito con un Master in Critical Curatorial Cybermedia (2011) e una laurea in cinema (2014) presso HEAD – Genève. Il suo film d'esordio, I Am Truly a Drop of Sun on Earth (2017), ha debuttato all'International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) e ha ricevuto premi a Entrevues Belfort e al Festival Internazionale del Cinema di Valladolid. Il cortometraggio Red Ants Bite (2019) è stato anch'esso presentato in anteprima a Rotterdam. Il secondo lungometraggio, Wet Sand (2021), ha debuttato al Locarno Film Festival e ha vinto il Prix de Soleure, il più prestigioso premio cinematografico svizzero. Il terzo film, Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry (2023), è stato presentato alla Quinzaine des Réalisateurs di Cannes e ha ricevuto numerosi riconoscimenti, incluso il Premio del Cinema Svizzero per il miglior film. After studying painting at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, they pursued a Master's in Critical Curatorial Cybermedia (2011) and a BA in Film (2014) at HEAD – GenèveNaveriani's debut feature, I Am Truly a Drop of Sun on Earth (2017), premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and was awarded at the Entrevues Belfort and the Valladolid International Film Festival. Their short film Red Ants Bite (2019) also premiered at IFFR. The second feature, Wet Sand (2021), premiered at the Locarno Film Festival and won the Prix de Soleure, Switzerland's most prestigious film award. Their third feature, Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry (2023), premiered at Cannes Directors' Fortnight and received multiple accolades, including the Swiss Film Award for Best Feature Film.​ Naveriani's work often explores themes of marginalization, identity, and queer narratives. Currently, Naveriani is developing a new project titled The Trial of Lilia Peradze.
