Parigi 1993, in piena esplosione della crisi dell’AIDS in Europa: Jacques, scrittore gay trentaseienne amante degli incontri sessuali senza strascichi, è padre di un bambino. Afflitto dal virus dell’AIDS, teme che non gli resti molto da vivere. Mentre inizia un rapporto con Arthur, studente dagli alti ideali che, come lui, non disdegna incontri sia con uomini che con donne, flirta saltuariamente con lo sfuggente Jean-Marie e, quando non ha la custodia del figlio, trascorre il tempo con il suo migliore amico Mathieu, che si suppone segretamente innamorato di lui.

Paris 1993, in the midst of the AIDS crisis in Europe: Jacques, a 36-year-old gay writer who loves sexual encounters no strings attached, is the father of a child. Affected by AIDS, he fears that not much remains for him to live. While starting a relationship with Arthur - a student with high ideals who, like him, does not disdain encounters with both men and women – Jacques flirts occasionally with the elusive Jean-Marie and, when he has no custody of his son, spends time with his best friend Mathieu, who is supposedly secretly in love with him.

Eleventh feature film for the French filmmaker, writer and dramatist who, faithful to his peculiar ability to narrate intimacy in all its forms, does not renounce to his known frankness in exploring the never predictable sexuality of his characters, keeping themes such as friendship and love in the foreground.
